Some big hitting at the end of the opposition innings cost Clanfield CC a second win in the Indoor League at Fareham last weekend.

Bowling first against the XIIth Men, Clanfield kept things reasonably tight although opposition batsman Peterson batted aggressively and retired quickly. Once he was gone, Clanfield restricted runs and took wickets to leave the XIIth Men at 79 with only 2 overs left. Unfortunately, the two remaining batsmen scored 40 in those overs, including 6 sixes, to reach 119 for 4. Pick of the bowlers was Mark Turnbull with 2 for 14 from his 3 overs.

When they batted, Clanfield lost Haider Khan early and continued to lose wickets regularly as the required run rate went up. Only Oscar Windebank (30) was able to retire and come back.

Despite hitting the last  ball for 6, Clanfield finished on 113-5 to lose by 6 runs.

A disappointing result but still a good overall performance in the higher division.
