Sarisbury side overwhelm Clanfield cricketers

A Clanfield team, missing a pair of key players, slipped to defeat last Sunday against second in the table - Sarisbury Athletic B.

Bowling first, Clanfield kept the Sarisbury batsmen under reasonable control, restricting them to around 70 into the 8th over. However, Sarisbury had only lost one wicket so the batsmen then cut loose and took their score to 131 for 2 from their 12 overs.  Hammond and Fredrich both retired while Oscar Windebank and Dan Andrews were the only wicket takers.

Clanfield lost early wickets and were soon behind the required rate.  A sensible knock of 30 by Matt Bradley gave the score some respectability but Clanfield were all out for 108 from the last ball of their 12 overs, to lose by 23.

A disappointing result against a pretty strong all-round team.
