Between dates/times stated 13/07/2016 02:00 – 13/07/2016 06:00 unknown person/s have stolen a motorcycle that was locked and secure on the highway outside their property in First Avenue, Horndean. If you have any information that may help Police with this investigation then please contact us on 101 and quote reference 44160260123

Please ensure you are vigilant at all times, calling police to report any suspicious activity, not just around your own property but anything suspicious in your residential area and community. In an emergency use 999 or 101 for non-emergency. It is not too late to report any suspicious activity to police.


Please check your belongings to see if you can identify any unique etched code if so please sign up to immobilise at a national property register, this is free to sign up.



  • If your vehicle has keyless start, use a steering wheel or gear lock.
  • Consider having an on-board diagnostics (OBD) lock fitted.
  • Keep your car keys safe. Do not leave them inside your car or in the ignition.
  • Upon locking your vehicle try your car door to ensure it is actually locked. 
  • Don't leave your keys in a coat pocket.
  • Sports changing rooms can be targeted by thieves who look for car keys left in coat pockets.
  • Make sure that your keys are not visible to other people.
  • Always make sure your car doors and windows are locked.
  • Park your car in a garage.
  • If you don't have a garage, try to park in a well-lit, open place.
  • When using a car park, choose one that is well-supervised, has entry and exit points, good lighting and security. Avoid parking in dark spots. Look for Park Mark safer parking award (see right).
  • Consider fitting security devices that are approved by either Thatcham or Sold Secure.
  • All security devices should be fitted by a professional.
  • Consider fitting a tracking devices.
